Happy Teacher Appreciation Week! I personally believe that teachers should be celebrated every day of the year, but I may be a little biased. To kick off Teacher Appreciation Week, the ladies of Literacy Land are hosting a fun 2 day blog hop. It will be filled with pictures, stories, and 2 awesome giveaways!
Today we are celebrating by talking about some memories of our favorite teachers. My favorite teacher is actually a teacher that I never had a class with; I never even attended this teacher's school, except to help her set up and break down her classroom. My favorite teacher is my mother!
Hehe, she's the "grumpy" one |
She's currently a 6th grade Gifted Reading teacher here in Georgia. She has also taught 5th grade in the past. She's an exceptional teacher who goes above and beyond to make sure that her students succeed, not only in school but outside as well.
I remember going with her, during pre-planning, and helping her set up her room. I would go back, at the end of the year, to help her box up everything for the next year. I always loved getting to play in her room, talk to the teachers, and see what teachers "really did" when students were not around. Who would have though that I would one day follow in her footsteps and become a reading teacher as well?!
What are some of your best memories with your favorite teacher? Have you thought about reaching out the them lately? Let's not forget about the teachers who touched our lives and continue to do so each day.
To show our support, appreciation, and thankfulness for every teacher out there, we are having a $20 TPT Giftcard giveaway. Be sure to enter, by using the Rafflecopter below.
